Time spent by staff taking and processing orders and receiving payments was costing MamaDuke dearly in overheads and proving a significant barrier to expanding its catering services. It considered setting up an online ordering and purchasing facility, but was unsure how this would be compatible with its existing payment system.
WebDynamic™ developed a customised eCommerce system that could be linked to the university payment system within which MamaDuke operated. We established a shopping cart system and online catalogue that could be easily adapted to showcase regularly changing catering menus.
MamaDuke has calculated savings of 25 minutes spent by staff on each order thanks to its streamlined order processing and payment system. Ecommerce has improved both productivity and profitability by drastically reducing the workload of catering staff whilst allowing for expansion of catering services into a larger geographic area.
