Email Alias or Email Forwarding

Email Alias or Email Forwarding

WebDynamic™ Web Glossary

Not every email address has its own POP3 or Web-based mailbox. Some merely redirect email traffic to another email address. These P.O. Box-style addresses are called aliases or email forwarding addresses. Domain hosts or registrars offer them as a service to people who register domains but don't want to reconfigure their email software to pick up from another email box—or pay for space on an email server.
