Alias

A website alias is a part of the website name that is used to access a particular website. For example, www is a common alias that is put before all website names. Alias in the normal world is used to refer to a particular person or place with another name that is popularly known, similarly on the web, Web alias is used in order to represent some other web page name. This is an important part of web development.

In fact website developers take advantage of domain aliases as they direct a wrongly typed web address to the website address that they want to promote.
