Government intervention

Government intervention can be defined as that phenomenon in which the government acts as the regulatory agency and makes sure that there is cap on the fraudulent activates that happen on the internet. It is one of the main activities that are undertaken to regulate the web site advertising.

Internet has become a part and parcel of every business. The Internet has become one of the key tools and online internet marketing has more or less replaced every other mode of advertising. The advantages offered by online advertising is that it is relatively cheaper than displaying ads on TV and radio. Also, using online advertising, you do not have to bother about reaching the target audience as if the user is accessing your site; it is obvious that he is interested in the goods or products that you offer. Also, the changes that you make on the internet are displayed instantly and this is where online advertising score over other advertising modes. But online advertising has also given rise to many illegal activities. There are many cases where there are copyright infringements take place. This is where regulation from government becomes so important.

Each company has its own logo. A logo is what identifies the company in online advertising. But there are many malicious users who make some minor changes in the logos and make it for their benefit. Ordinary users might not spot such minor differences and as a result, they might mistake that fraud company with the authentic company. This way, the fraud advertisers can make use of online advertising for driving more customers. The government has to intervene in such cases and prevent it from happening in online advertising campaign. This might even ruin the reputation of the original company. The government must prevent such malpractices from spoiling the online advertising strategy.

The Internet is the best place to promote your art or creativity. If you have something new, you can put it on the internet and copyright it so that no one else uses it without your permission. In spite of that, there are cases of copyright breaches in website marketing. Had it not been for intervention from the government, online advertising would have lost its sheen and glory. If a user uses the designs and templates of some other company illegally for his online advertising purpose, such users can be booked by the laws passed by the government.

Online advertising has reached new heights with the introduction of online shopping and ecommerce websites. You can now shop without leaving the comfort of your house. But this has even given rise to many anti-law practices that seek undue advantage of online advertising. There are users who use social engineering to dupe the consumers in to giving out sensitive details like credit card numbers. It is the government that takes efforts to ensure that such activities are regulated and that online advertising is free from anti-social elements.
