Web Page

A document on the World Wide Web that can accessed by a unique web address or URL, through a search engine, or via a link from another web page or an email. A web page usually belongs to a collection of web pages that make up a website. They consist of an HTML file and any related files for graphics, and can contain text, images, sound, video and animation.

A web page, unlike a hard copy page, does not have standard size (width or length) specification. It is more accurate to think of a web page as one 'instance' of web content, defined but what can be viewed on the computer screen by scrolling up and down or from side to side, before using one's mouse to move to another web page. If frames are used, multiple pages can be displayed in the browser window at the same time, resulting in multiple page views.

Web pages can either be static or dynamic. Static pages show the same content each time they are viewed. Dynamic pages have content that can change either in one viewing or each time they are accessed.
