The American Bankers Association (ABA) represents banking institutions of all sizes. Supporting the interests of banks and their workers, the ABA plays a key role in setting standards for inter-bank financial transactions (eg. cheques).
The ABA engages in federal legislative and regulatory activities and legal action. Other functions include communication and consumer education, research, and products and services that promote, educate, train, inform and support members.
