Gone are the days of advertising to a mass of disinterested observers, within which hides a small, dispersed and unmeasurable number of genuine prospects. With Google adwords, your ad appears next to search results that are directly relevant to your business, product and services.

The idea behind Google adwords is that you choose the keywords that will bring up your advertisement each time a search is performed. You then pay for the service on a cost per click, or pay per click basis.

Not only are you advertising to an audience that's more likely to be interested in you because they are searching for something related to what you are selling, but you are also only paying for the tangible, measurable traffic the ad draws to your website.
